Seattle Housing Affordability Crisis: Data Visualization for The Seattle Times
A case study describing the process and the result
This mock project was designed as a visual storytelling initiative for The Seattle Times. The goal was to create clear, data-driven visualizations that help communicate Seattle's housing affordability crisis. By combining compelling charts and informative layouts, I aimed to present complex data in a digestible format for readers, bridging the gap between statistical information and public understanding. The visualizations focus on the disparities between rising home prices, rental rates, and household incomes from 2009 to 2024. They offer a detailed look into how Seattle's housing market has become less affordable over time, with clear graphical representations of median household income growth and rental price increases by unit size.
